2024 GIANT Wellington PNP Club & College Sport Champs
Results
14/4/24: Results have been checked and verified. Congratulations first to our PNP Club Champions: Lara Comeskey & Calum Chamberlain - but also to all our PNP & College Sport Wellington (CSW) winners and racers. It was great to see you out enjoying it.
There were a couple of small formula errors, but nothing apparently affecting Prize-Giving results. I have included a link to the original Excel so that others can have a look' under the hood' if interested..

Latest Updates
7/4/24: One week to go and a few tweaks have been made. The XCO Long Loop has been re-measured as shorter so we have moved the U15 riders onto a single long loop - as it is a really good loop into new territory. Have a look at the linked PDF for full course details.
12/3/24: We have confirmed the course details for the Event - and the XCO is taking us to a whole new section of the park where we haven't visited before. We are looking forward to seeing you on it. Entries will open at the end of the week.

29/1/24: We have a new venue for the College Sport Wellington and PNP Cycling Club MTB Championships. We will be holding the 2024 event based at Wainui MTB Park. This is where the 2023 Spring Series R3 was held.

We have become aware of a date conflict with a national XCO race which would see our top seed riders missing the Club Champs, so we have deferred the date to Sun 14 April 2024.

Ride notes
The MTB Champs will comprise three events – cross country (XCO), an Enduro stage (End) and a short Criterium race (Crit). A weighted points system is awarded for each event and a combined total determines the overall winner. If there is a point tie, your XCO placing will be the decider.

Full details of the course descriptions are available in the Event Manual available via the [Event Details] button above.

Championship Notes: (Club and College Sport Wellington)
This is essentially two championships being run in the same set of races, with two sets of eligibility criteria.
To be a PNP Club Champion, you must be a PNP Club Member at the time of racing. Additionally you must be registered in the OPEN Men/Women category - unless you are still in college.

To be awarded a College Sport Wellington medal, you must be enrolled in a Wellington Region college. This covers Wellington, Hutt Valley and Kapiti colleges. College riders must enter within their respective age groups to compete for an age group title. Ages are taken as at 31 Dec 2024. As an example, a 16yo rider turning 17 later this year must enter the U19 category (not U17).
We will compare any Club + College riders to the Open Men/Women winners to see if they have better times/points and can be awarded the PNP Club Champion
